Chinmaya Mission Pittsburgh purchased a 9-acre site in Mars, PA, very near the beautiful Treesdale neighborhood. We hope to create a new center to spread Vedantic teaching and to serve as place of Indian culture and heritage. This project will offer much to the community and allow CMP to continue to grow decades into the future.

After a long road that started when we acquired the land in October 2016, the project loan has closed on Feb 16, 2021!! We have also obtained permits to do clearing of the existing old buildings and to grade the land for the new building. Weather permitting, the work will start Feb 17, 2021.

Before we start the construction of the building itself, CMP will perform a Bhoomi Puja, which is tentatively planned for 7 am on Sunday, May 2. At the Bhoomi Puja, the very spot on the ground where the Shiva Lingam will be seated will be sanctified by the priest with appropriate rituals. We will soon send a formal invitation to this grand event. Eventually, the building will include 4 major components: (1) Lord Shiva Temple, (2) Auditorium, (3) Dining Hall, and (4) Classrooms.

We are well on our way, but we need your help. Please contribute to support a cause that will help spread devotion and self-knowledge for generations to come. Every donation is welcome, no matter the amount! All Donations are Tax Deductible:
