Class 3 : Summary
RAW review: Take a vow: We asked our class to be little Bhishmas last week and take up a vow - some kids responded with - exercising everyday to waking up on time. We discussed their experience with it - and discovered all of us have Will Power and can work on exercising it and developing it steadily. Those who met our goal felt 'accomplished', and others felt encouraged to try again.
Story: We covered the story of Hastinapura's quest for a heir - deaths of Shantanu, Chitrangadha, Vichitravirya; Amba, Ambika, Ambalika's swayamvara and births of Dhritarashtra, Pandu and Vidura and eventual crowning of Pandu as King.
We analyzed the characters of Bhishma, Satyavati, Amba and symbolism of Dhritarashtra, Pandu and Vidura, and talked a little about Karma as well.
RAW: Take on a responsibility: This week we have asked the students to observe situations around them and offer to help - around the house, school etc. So if you see your little one vacuuming, or putting dishes away, or taking the trash out - you know - they are trying to be "responsible" & selfless like Bhishma!!
